Disorderly Intoxication is a second degree misdemeanor in Florida for which the penalties can be up to a $500 fine and 60 days incarceration. In addition, other alcohol-related sanctions may apply as well.
Some may consider a second degree misdemeanor to not be a big deal, but for others, any criminal charge could have lasting consequences if it is not dealt with properly.
That is why it is still beneficial to consult with a criminal defense attorney who is familiar with how these cases are handled.
It is especially important to consult with an attorney if you were previously convicted of an alcohol-related offense like DUI or Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.
